Donna and Shawn are hitting the trails! - March 12th. On Saturday the 12th, we are headed to Hippy Cave, Sawtooth Overlook, Fiddler's Arch and Wild Cat Den and you are welcome to come if you can. This is an all-day, 21 mile ride so pack your lunch and bring your camera! The days are still short so we'll be leaving by 9:00 am central. We'll be riding out right from the campground. See some of the great natural rock formations and caves that Big South Fork has to offer. No minimum or maximum number of riders for this ride. This is NOT a guided ride - this is a tag-along ride. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like, but we will be riding at our own pace. This is one of our favorite trails and we try to ride it at least a couple of times a year. Join us! You'll be glad you did.
All Girls overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge - March 25th-27th Join us on Friday night and then we'll all take a trip on Saturday to Charit Creek, enjoy dinner at the lodge and then saddle up for a moonlight ride! Enjoy a home cooked breakfast the next day and ride back to True West. Space is limited - only 10 covered stalls and 2 corrals available to the first eleven (11) people to sign up. Cost includes lodging, bedding, dinner Saturday night, breakfast Sunday morning, stall or corral for your horse and hay for your horse. Call for pricing.

Coggins Clinic - April 2nd - Coggins Clinic @ True West Campground with Highland Veterinary Hospital in Oneida. Coggins and shots will be done between 8am-12pm. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!! We're headed to visit Charit Creek Lodge! April 9th - This is Donna's all-time favorite place to ride to and you can join her if you'd like. Daylight savings has begun so let's take full advantage of it and kick off the season with a full day ride - 26 miles (round trip) to the historical land mark where you will meet Greg, the host of the lodge and he will prepare lunch for us when we arrive (small fee applies - reservations required) or you can bring your own lunch. We'll ride through beautiful Big South Fork. Gorgeous trails, beautiful creek crossings and bluffs. Then explore this romantic landmark before riding back to True West. A favorite ride for some - and sure to be yours too! This is NOT a guided ride - this is a tag-along ride. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like, but we will be riding at our own pace.
All Chocolate weekend! - April 22nd-23rd Back by popular demand!! It's our 4th Annual All Chocolate weekend!! Chocolate fondue on Friday night - you bring the snacks to dip and we'll provide the chocolate. Saturday it's BINGO for CHOCOLATE! Get a chance to win chocolate throughout the night and possibly the grand prize; A Basket of Chocolate goodies! This is just too fun to miss out on! Stick around, pull up a chair and relax after the fun dies down and join us for a movie on the common area.
5th annual AREA WIDE yard-sale, Tack Swap! - April 30th Need to clean out your shed or is your tack room filled with unused tack? Bring your old or outgrown tack to either donate to a worthy cause or to swap/sell. We'll help you sell it! Just bring your (gently used) tack and/or any yard sale items you want to sell. Can't man your own table because you want to ride? We'll man it for yo (items must be priced). Not camping here but live in the surrounding area? Bring your stuff! Open to EVERYONE in the area. We'll do all the advertising for you - all you have to do is SELL SELL SELL!

Ride for the Brand HwN Spring Ride - May 6-8th Arrive Friday night and have Chocolate Fondue meet and greet! We'll supply the chocolate - you bring what you want to dip into it! Then enjoy the trails in BSF all day on Saturday and then when you get back to camp we'll have a pot luck dinner on the enclosed common area. We will put the Kentucky Derby on the big screen too. Wear your Derby hats! FUN FUN FUN!! Join us!! More details soon!
Season Kick off Pig Roast! - May 14th. Join us on May 14th for our season kick off! Things are just starting to pick up for the year so we want to celebrate! Saturday night we will have smoked shoulders and all the fixin's for dinner! It will be $15/pp to cover the meal.
Horse and Rider Spa Day - May 21st. Girls AND Guys! Come join us for a pampering weekend! We will have Chocolate Fondue on Friday night. We will provide the chocolate just bring something to dip! Then on Saturday go hit the trails and have fun. When you come back be ready to be pampered! We will have an Aroma Therapy massage and a pedicure waiting for you! Of course you can't forget about your horses that just rode the trail with you! They work hard so we will have an equine massage for them too! Prices will be posted soon. Each Company will require a reservation and have their own cost for their service.
Memorial Day Weekend (3 night minimum stay) - May 27th-30th Catered Dinner (Menu: Chicken & Dumplings, Green Beans, Fried Taters, Corn Bread, & a drink - $12 per person) and Karaoke Saturday night. Bring your dancin' shoes! This weekend fills up FAST so make your reservations SOON!!

Come celebrate Summer Time Favorites with us. Join us this weekend and we invite you to enjoy the taste of summer when you return from your trail riding in Big South Fork! We might even have some CAKE! Then settle back and we'll have a "drive-in" movie on the big screen! Some old time favorites to bring back great memories and make new ones!

We will ride the 18 mile loop and then return to True West for a Pot luck Dinner! We'd would love for our facebook friends and campers to join us! This is NOT a guided ride - this is a tag-along ride. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like, but we will be riding at our own pace.
    Treasure Hunt! - June 18th This is a family event! Bring the kids!! Dress like the pirates did and then head out on the trails with a "compass and a map". Find the hidden treasure and then head back to "the ship". Later we'll dish out the "spoils" and then maybe even finish up the night with a little pirate action that involves popcorn! The terrain is fairly easy and is meant to be a great event to share with the kids. Pot Luck dinner Saturday night so bring a pirate dish to share! Something new to try!!

    EVERY weekend is "THANK OUR HEROES" weekend in July - $35 off every weekend reservation (2 night minimum stay). All sites & lodging included, every weekend!. All Military (past and present), police, fire and Volunteer Medical (EMT) personnel too!     Patriotic (July 4th) Celebration & B.I.N.G.O. Ride!- July 2nd-4th. Ride the TeePee Loop trail and pick your B.I.N.G.O. Numbers along the way. Return to the campground for a catered Hot Dog and Hamburger dinner (small fee) on the Common Area and it's BINGO for all! Get out your BINGO beans and see if you've won! If no one has won, then we will continue the game - and play more if you're game! Then gather around the campfire following the BINGO Game for some campground stories. Come share your stories with us too! What was the funniest, scariest or coolest thing that happened to you on the trail?!
    IRON HORSE weekend - July 16th Too hot to ride your horse? Then bring your Iron Horses (motorcycles) instead of your horses and we'll bring you on a guided ride through the twisting and winding roads of Tennessee. Tennessee, all around Big South Fork, has great motorcycle roads. Beautiful overlooks and scenic roadways and rivers - you'll love it. The road is no place for a horse - unless it's an Iron Horse!! Return to True West for a pot luck dinner and some maybe even some live music! (Rain date, July 30th)
    Christmas in July! - July 23rd Come celebrate Christmas in July with us! You will have all the fun of a normal Christmas but with warmer riding weather! Go riding on Saturday then come back and join us for a pot luck dinner on the common area. After dinner and dessert we will have a Yankee Swap and watch some Christmas movies on the big screen! Please bring a gift worth $10+ for the Yankee Swap. It wouldn't be Christmas without giving right? Also, please bring a little something to donate to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary! Check their "Wish List" on their Facebook page under "Notes". The pups at Best Friends deserve to celebrate Christmas in July too!
    Scavenger Hunt July 30th - Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. We'll give you a list of natural things you would find out in Big South Fork and you take pictures and "bring them back". Riders can earn up to 100 points if all items are found and the mystery points are received. Anyone can play and you can ride on any trail. Return to camp and we'll download your photos, tally your points and you could win a free weekend stay!! Wait - it gets better! We'll burn the best pictures on a CD for everyone to take home and we'll play it during the pot luck dinner on the common area. A great family or group activity. Definitely a favorite! $20/fee to participate - includes Burger and Dog dinner with chips, soda and dessert, a True West T-shirt, a commemorative CD* (*pictures MUST be taken with a camera) and a chance to win a weekend stay.     Labor Day Weekend Celebration- September 2nd-5th (Three night minimum) Help us celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers. Labor Day is an annual national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. I say we celebrate it by NOT working!! Let's have some fun! Bon Fire, BBQ, Grilling, Riding, Friends, Family and FUN! Sounds like a good recipe for a 3-day weekend! Join us!
    Couples Overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge- September 10th-11th Couples Overnight ride to Charit Creek Lodge. Built in the early 1800's, and on America's National Historical Register, this rustic homestead is one of the few places in United States that is still in existence and fully operational with NO ELECTRICITY! AND, if that's not cool enough, you can only get there by horseback or hiking!! Arrive on Friday night and then on Saturday morning we'll head out and ride through beautiful Big South Fork. Gorgeous trails, beautiful creek crossings and bluffs. Then explore this romantic landmark before enjoying dinner at the lodge. Then it's the Newly Wed Game! Loads of fun and laughter for the whole group! Maybe some star gazing too! Enjoy a home cooked breakfast the next day, a hike to Twin Arches (optional - hiking trail only) and then ride back to True West. Space is limited - only 10 covered stalls and 2 corrals available to the first ten people - (5) couples - to sign up. Call for pricing.
    Crock Pot Cook-off and Best Friends Fund Raiser September 17th Get out those Crock Pot recipes! It doesn't get any easier than this! You throw everything in, plug it in and then go riding. When you come back you've got an awesome home cooked meal without slaving over a hot stove. Well, we're looking for the camper with the best recipe! Cost to participate is $10/pp (including the cooks) but the prize is a 50/50 win. Half the money goes to the cook, the other half goes to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Then, if you've got a guitar, bring it! We'll finish the night with a little strumming around the campfire!!
    Shawn and Donna are headed to the O&W Bridge - September 24th The perfect place to ride with the fall colors on the way is along the O&W river. So why not head to the most scenic spot on the river - the old O&W Train bridge! Pack your lunch and we'll stop and eat by the bridge while we overlook the river. Such a tranquil place to be! Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. This is NOT a guided ride - this is a tag-along ride. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like, but we will be riding at our own pace.

    Apple Bake off! - October 1st. - It's apple picking season so let's make the most of it! Join us for our apple bake off! Bring your favorite apple dish to share. Shawn and I will be the judge! Prizes for 1st - 3rd!!
    IT'S LEAF PEEPING TIME! The fall foliage is spectacular during the month of October. You'll have great weather, no bugs, long days and great trails!     Columbus day Weekend Celebration - October 7th-10th - 3-night minimum stay. Hamburger and hot dog dinner ($10.00/pp advance reservations needed), Live Entertainment Saturday night (Band TBD) After a full day of riding, kick back and enjoy dinner on the common area; then put on those dancin' shoes because It's sure to be a great night with great music Join us - and make your Columbus Day weekend an AWESOME Columbus Day weekend!!!
    Pot Luck Dinner! - October 15th Everyone is welcome. It's the perfect time for leaf peeping so don't forget to bring your cameras along! Then join us for great food, and great company! Everyone bring a dish to share. Then join us at the fire out front and let's share some trail stories. You can't help but have a great time!
    Halloween Costume Party!- October 29th It's Trick-or-Treat time! Kids get to Trick-or-Treat in the campground and then participate in a parade on horseback! If you are joining us this weekend, please bring a bag of candy for the kids. Then it's Contest time! Costumes for you, Costumes for your dog, Costumes for your horse, Decorate your site! Pot luck - so bring your Ghoulish Grub! Come dressed for the party and there will be prizes for Best Costume in all of the above categories. It's sure to be a SPOOKTACULAR time!

    Ceremonial Burning/Retirement of the Flag - November 5th Join us together with the American Legion, Post 137 of Jamestown, TN In honor of our Veterans as we hold our third annual ceremonial burning of the Flag to show that the spirit of American Flag lives on. If you have a flag you'd like to retire, please bring it along. You are welcome to dedicate it to someone as well. The ceremony will take place at 6:00pm (cst) after sunset and will close with a 21-gun salute. All Military Service Personnel and Veterans are welcome to attend. 50% discount to all Veterans wishing to rent a campsite for the weekend (does not include the Marshal Suite, Camper or Cabin). Proof of status required.
    Pet Pictures with Santa - November 12th What a great Christmas card this would make! Your pet's picture with Santa Claus! Dog, cat, horse, goat - bring 'em over! Cost is $10/pet. All proceeds go towards the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Pictures will be taken between 10:00am and 2:00pm (cst)
    It's Donna's birthday ride! November 19th We are headed out for a birthday ride for Donna along the Cumberland Valley Loop - Donna's second favorite trail in BSF. We will ride the 18 mile loop and then return to True West for a Pot luck Dinner and BIRTHDAY CAKE! Donna would love for her facebook friends and campers to join her!
    4th Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner - November 24th Thanksgiving On US! You bring the family, all your friends, neighbors, relatives - and a dessert and we'll supply everything else! Arrive on Wednesday, enjoy dinner with us on Thursday and then make the most of the weekend with two more days of riding!!! (3-night minimum stay)

    6th Annual "Christmas at True West" Christmas Party December 3rd- Pot luck dinner - We'll supply the ham, you bring the sides and/or desserts. Trim the tree, Yankee Swap (bring a wrapped gift worth at least $20), Christmas carols around the bon fire! But let's also remember the SPIRIT of what Christmas is all about. We'll be taking donations for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary towards their WISH LIST please bring a monetary donation, or an item that's listed on their WISH LIST. Let's let the dogs and cats know that they are not forgotten.
    Let's explore Big South Fork together! December 10th - We are very familiar with the more common trails in the area; Cumberland Valley Loop (O&W), Hippy Cave, Wildcat Den, Fiddler's Arch, Sawtooth overlook, Charit Creek Lodge, the O&W Bridge, Bandy Creek, N. White Oak Loop and others - but we also know there is MORE out there!!! We want to find other trails to ride and new loops to map out for our guests! With BSF being so big, we know there is more to see! If you'd like to join us you're welcome to! This is NOT a guided ride - this is a tag-along ride. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like, but we will be riding at our own pace. The days are short so we will be looking to get an early start. We are hoping to map out at least a 15 mile ride. Bring a flashlight and pack for the weather!
    New Year's Eve Party! - December 31st - We get to start the fun all over again with New Year's Eve 2016! Celebrate with us! We'll celebrate TWO times - once for the East Coast Time Zone and once for the Central Time Zone (we are in Central). You can start the night off with a pot luck dinner, all the favorites for New Years and then we'll gather 'round the bon fire to sing in the New Year!!! - Twice as much fun as you've ever had on New Year's Eve!!! Come see for yourself!
